Jakarta, MKOnline – In the context making the Constitutional Court (The Court) more familiar to the general public as well as developing the culture of constitutional awareness, The Court – represented by the literature division – also participated in the Indonesia Book Fair 2010 organized by IKAPI (Ikatan Penerbit Buku Indonesia or the Indonesian Book Publishers’ Association) in Istora Senayan, Jakarta. This book fair will be held up to October 10, 2010.

“The opening of this stand is aimed at disseminating information about The Court to the community so that more people know about the duties and authorities of it,” expressed one of The Court’s staff Nallom Kurniawan on Sunday (3/10) afternoon. “The Court has participated not only in this event, and we can say that we always participates in any book fair,” he added.

On that occasion, Nallom also explained, that that time The Court presented a bit different from the usual appearance namely that the stand did not only exhibit books collected in The Court’s library but it also opened a ‘Constitution Corner or Pojok Konstitusi’.

“This Pojok Konstitusi is the place for visitors to consult about and obtain explanation related to various issues about The Court. From the aspects of its authority, related regulations, they can even ask about several The Court's decisions,” he continued.

At the stand, there was a TV screen and several computer units connected to the internet. “The TV screen displays the history of The Court, profiles of Justices, as well as hearing situations in The Court. Meanwhile the computers display the simulation of how to access the online library of the Constitutional Court to the visitors,” he explained.

In addition, the visitors who dropped by were served not only by such facilities but they also got interesting merchandises from The Court. “The requirements are easy, you only need to complete the identity in the visitors’ book,” said Nallom who is daily a research staff in The Court. (Dodi)
